About

At a very young age I was lucky enough to be introduced into the beautiful world of my Aunt, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a baby. I grew up seeing all her beauty and abilities which created a great amount of compassion and understanding for people living with a disability. In turn, I chose to apply to the DSW program at Fanshawe College where I first learned about the various types of support and services offered. Throughout the last 10 years, I have gained personal and professional experience and knowledge working for various agencies and supporting people living with many types of disabilities. I have had the opportunity to see that once adulthood is reached, there is a limited amount of out of home respite services in Windsor-Essex County, while more and more individuals are graduating each year with limited options to fulfill their days with meaning socially, emotionally, and physically.

Lola’s Round Table was created to help fill the transitional gap of graduating high school and living in a 24 hour home. I am offering families peace of mind before and after graduation, a place for their child to achieve the best quality of life possible by providing a daily out of home respite service in a group setting to develop life skills, social skills and experience what their community has to offer.

I highly recommend Lola's Round Table respite services to any families that may be looking for day support program for the young adult in their life that has a disability.

Lauren and I have worked side-by-side for many years and I have had the pleasure of watching her grow from a young adult herself to a caring professional with the ability to always see the potential and young people she provides support to.

She provides rewarding activities through her group and fosters friendships at the same time as allowing her clients to be as independent as possible.
- Karen Gardiner
